The retail giant has adopted Grass Valley’s Agile Media Processing Platform (AMPP) and IP infrastructure to power its global communications and internal broadcast operations. The system is designed to reach Walmart’s 1.6 million associates through a modernized, scalable production environment.
By moving to an IP-based workflow, Walmart is able to replace legacy systems with a more flexible architecture capable of handling the demands of a global workforce. Grass Valley said the transformation allows for more efficient content creation and distribution across Walmart’s internal networks.
In addition to the Walmart case study, Grass Valley is featuring its new Altair 12G Routers. The Altair series provides high-density 12G-SDI routing capabilities, designed for seamless integration into modern broadcast environments that require high bandwidth and reliability.
The company is also showcasing its AMPP OS, which now includes AMPP Edge and AMPP Local hosting options. These additions are intended to provide broadcasters with greater flexibility for cloud, on-premises or hybrid deployments, allowing them to tailor their infrastructure to specific operational needs.
“AMPP enables this shift by aligning agile infrastructure with real demand, transforming playout into a driver of monetization,” the company said in a statement regarding its cloud-native capabilities.
NAB 2026 attendees can see these solutions and learn more about the Walmart transformation at the Grass Valley booth during the convention.
