NAB Show: Ikegami to Showcase New Cameras, Monitors

Ikegami USA is bringing its latest generation of broadcast production cameras, controllers and monitors to the NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 18-22. The showcase, located at Central Hall Booth C3819, will feature the flagship UNICAM XE 3-CMOS 2/3-inch 4K-UHD cameras. These models, which include the UHK-X700 and UHK-X750 studio versions, share a network camera control architecture.

“High signal quality, versatility, ease of operation and futureproof continue to be major requirements when broadcast content creators are expanding or upgrading their infrastructure,” Alan Keil, Ikegami USA senior engineering fellow, said.

Ikegami is also introducing the UHL-X40, a two-piece box camera designed for robotic applications. The unit features a separate camera head weighing 2.4 pounds and a CCU, allowing for fiber extension up to six miles.

On the IP front, the company will highlight the IPX-100 IP compact base station. The unit allows creators to adopt SMPTE ST 2110 IP remote and studio operations while maintaining familiar baseband workflows. It can power camera heads via conventional SMPTE-hybrid fiber cable up to two miles and includes an integral test signal generator.

Additional equipment on display will include:

  • OCP-500 Operation Control Panel: Now in production, this slimline panel offers remote control of all camera functions via an LCD touchscreen and rotary encoders. It features an Ethernet interface and supports RS-422 control.
  • HLM-2460WA Monitor: A 24-inch video monitor with a 1920 x 1200 pixel IPS LCD panel, designed for edit suites and monitor walls.
  • HLM-1860WR Monitor: An 18.5-inch HD multiformat monitor with 500 nits peak brightness for outdoor or rack-mount use.

Both monitors include user-definable reference markers, eight channels of SDI-embedded audio metering and tally integration.

Ikegami also plans to introduce a new feature for its top-end UNICAM XE models during the show. The 4K lineup also includes the UHK-X600 and HDK-X500 HD models, which offer upgrade paths to 4K-UHD.
