LucidLink Launches ‘Connect’ For Instant Data Access

LucidLink, a provider of cloud-native file streaming platforms for secure access to large files, has launched LucidLink Connect, a file streaming solution that allows users to access and stream data from existing data stores without migration, duplication or architectural changes.

The tool is designed to make existing cloud data stores instantly streamable while preserving native formats and existing workflows. By using byte-range streaming, applications stream only the portions of a file they need, reducing bandwidth usage and access costs.

“LucidLink has always made cloud data behave like a local file system,” Peter Thompson, LucidLink founder-CEO, said. “Connect extends that to the massive amount of data already sitting in object storage. Instead of migrating or reorganizing it, teams can simply point LucidLink at existing buckets and immediately start browsing and working with that data through the workflows they already use.”

The platform is used across media, architecture, engineering and enterprise workflows to browse footage, stream clips and open files directly in desktop applications. Current customers include Sony Interactive, Paramount, Warner Bros., Adobe and Shopify.

LucidLink Connect is available now on LucidLink Enterprise plans, enabling customers to connect existing AWS S3 data.
