Advanced Systems Group (ASG) has appointed Jody Boatwright to the newly created role of chief strategy officer.

Boatwright will work with Dave Van Hoy, ASG president, and the leadership team on strategic analysis, market predictions and positioning. He will focus on technology and client services, including software-defined workflows, storage and consulting.

“I’ll be working along with Dave Van Hoy and all of the ASG leadership team to do strategic analysis, market predictions, and planning where we want to be positioned in it,” Boatwright said. “We’ll be looking specifically at the technology and client services that our clients will need in the future, which are both undergoing a dynamic shift right now, as the broader market evolves with the economy.”

Boatwright was previously the lead of the ASG managed services team, which grew eight-fold under his direction. His career includes a decade in systems integration and 11 years at ASG focusing on services, production and creative operations.

“Jody has been instrumental in shaping how ASG serves our clients for more than a decade,” Van Hoy said. “He has a rare ability to connect strategy to real-world execution. He understands our customers, our technology, and our services at a very deep level.”

Boatwright described his new position as a “connector and translator” role designed to link ASG’s internal expertise with market realities.

Based in Emeryville, Calif., ASG is a provider of technology and services, delivering expertise in systems integration, managed services, enterprise software and cloud orchestration.
