A St. Paul man will serve nearly eight years in prison for a shooting last year that left the victim paralyzed from the waist down.
Court documents show Boonme Vue, 36, pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting first-degree assault on Jan. 29. He was sentenced on Monday to 93 months in prison, with 344 days of credit for time served.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to drop counts of attempted second-degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
According to a criminal complaint, police responded to a reported shooting the afternoon of March 1 in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood of St. Paul.
The shooting victim told police he had gotten into an argument with several men who were angry at how fast he had driven down an alley. The argument escalated into a physical fight, and one of the men shot at the victim four or five times, hitting him once.
The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, but he had lost feeling in his legs and could no longer move them.
Vue had 10 prior felony convictions, including convictions for burglary and threats of violence, making him ineligible to possess a firearm.
