From page to stage: original production launches at Twin Lakes Playhouse Friday

A new original production will make its world debut at Twin Lakes Playhouse. The Villain of Pine Hollow, written by local theater veteran Mike Horberg, opens Friday and runs for three weekends.Horberg said work on the play began in November 2024, followed by months of writing and editing before the final script was completed. The show features 11 distinct characters and is set in the fictional town of Pine Hollow, blending a stylized Old West, 1930s-inspired setting with a modernized murder mystery.
Horberg was a recent guest on KTLO’s Talk of the Town and described the story.

Rehearsals began around Thanksgiving, and Horberg said the cast continues to respond strongly to the material. He added watching the actors develop the character is like nothing he’s ever experienced.
