Fire destroys parked car in Concord

A vehicle fire in Concord on Wednesday morning left a car heavily damaged.

Concord Fire Department crews were called to Coolidge Road at approximately 9:20 a.m. following reports of a car on fire.

Battalion Chief Tom Nault said the initial report came in as a vehicle fire, but the response was quickly upgraded when callers relayed the burning car was just five feet from the house.

The vehicle was a black Nissan SUV parked just outside the garage.

Firefighters arrived on scene and quickly knocked down the flames. The interior of the car was left charred, with the seats completely destroyed.

Nault said the fire did not spread to the building, and no one was inside the vehicle when it started. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
