Man in custody for North St. Paul deadly shooting on Saturday

A 24-year-old St. Paul man is in custody at the Ramsey County Jail, arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 19-year-old in North St. Paul on Saturday.

The North St. Paul police say that officers were called to the 2000 block of Ninth Avenue around 7 a.m. on Saturday, and when they arrived, they found a man who had been shot.

That person has been identified as Nehemiah Davis, from Coon Rapids. Despite being given lifesaving aid, he died at the scene.

The press release says that Zay’vion Edgerson is in custody. The case will be given to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office for charging consideration.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is helping police investigate the shooting, but says that preliminary information is that it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
