Lauriebelles is closing its downtown boutique.
The business expanded from Tea in 2019 to add the downtown location at 206 S. Phillips Ave. It also has a significant online presence.
“I truly love downtown and the people who have supported Lauriebelles from the very beginning,” owner Laurie Karlson said. “While this wasn’t an easy choice, it comes with excitement for what’s ahead.”
Lauriebelles plans to focus on expanding its in-house clothing line, Lily & Lottie, “which we design and manufacture ourselves,” Karlson said. “This next chapter allows us to pour more creativity into both brands and bring you even more thoughtfully made styles and offerings online.”
Merchandise at the downtown store will be 50 percent off through Jan. 10, which is expected to be the last day.
“It’s our way of celebrating this chapter and showing appreciation to everyone who has walked through our doors and supported us along the way,” Karlson said.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
She plans to continue running her location in Tea as well as an outlet store at The Empire Mall.
Lauriebelles is the third boutique in about a month to announce its closure downtown. Minnesota-based Primp closed next door to Lauriebelles while Pasque Boutique closed at The Steel District.
Karlson owns the downtown building where Lauriebelles is located and has leased it to a new retailer. Details on the concept are expected to be released soon.
