Hit-and-run driver sought after DAR State Park booth found battered
GOSHEN — Police are searching for a vehicle that sustained heavy front-end damage after a hit-and-run driver slammed into a contact station at the Daughters of the American Revolution State Park on Wednesday morning.
Goshen Police responded to the entrance of the state forest shortly after 9 a.m. where the parking lot’s booth was found battered. Its siding had been ripped off and the structure had been moved more than a foot.
“It appears a motor vehicle crashed into the front contact station causing significant damage while also moving the contact station approximately [sic] 16 inches off its axis,” Police Chief Fred Bezio wrote in a Facebook post shortly after police responded. “Whatever vehicle struck the contact station is going to have heavy front end damage.”
Bezio said anyone with information or tips about the hit and run can contact the Goshen Police Department at 413-268-3116.
