Money Minute: Buy the dipMoney Minute: Buy the dip
Many people probably have questions about when they should jump into the stock market.
“The market every other day seems to reach record highs,” says Pete Eckerline, with Eckerline Wealth Management.
He says there are days it sinks dramatically, and then it goes right back up, which he calls “buy the dip, every time we seem to get a pull back and then everyone jumps in again and up it goes.”
You can see that happen, and then people react.
“It’s also the fear of missing out,” Eckerline added. “So many people, that maybe have been on the sidelines, all of a sudden they get in.”
Eckerline says if you get in, be smart about it, suggesting to also look beyond the big stocks. He keeps the advice to think ahead long-term because the market historically moves up and down.
“At some point, there’s going to be a severe correction, but right now, it seems like there’s a lot of positives to get the market moving higher,” he noted.
