The solution addresses a critical challenge facing production companies, broadcasters, media and other organizations working with digital assets: how to make vast on-premise video libraries searchable and discoverable with cloud-based AI, while maintaining control over high-res master files.
Most AI tools require content to live in the cloud. This is a difficult reality for media teams managing thousands of hours of footage across NAS servers, Avid Nexis and LTO tapes. Getting it to the cloud meant manual uploads or complex automation deployments.
Moments Gateway solves this challenge. The solution installs adjacent to existing storage infrastructure and automatically scans media, generates lightweight proxies and syncs selected content to the Moments Lab Video Discovery Platform for AI enrichment. High-resolution masters can stay exactly where they are.
“We designed Moments Gateway to remove the infrastructure barriers that prevent teams from accessing their contentI,” said Frederic Petitpont, Moments Lab CTO/co-founder. “Organizations can now connect their storage — wherever it lives — and immediately gain AI-powered search, and the ability to prompt our Discovery Agent, across their entire catalog.”
Content synced to Moments Lab is immediately indexed with the company’s MXT multimodal AI technology. Users of the Video Discovery Platform can use “powerful, easy and intuitive search tools that suit their needs, whether it’s semantic search or conversational prompts with the Discovery Agent to quickly find the exact clip, quote or scene for new story creation and content repurposing,” the company says.
