On Giving Tuesday, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) flipped on its beloved EagleCamera for the season, and people can see a pair of the endangered birds sometimes tending to the nest.
The livestream is showing the same active nest as last season, the DNR says, but they have repositioned the camera for a better view, along with a clear picture, thanks to an added antenna.
“The recovery of the bald eagle population is a conservation success story. The DNR’s EagleCam celebrates this success and gives us a unique opportunity to witness these once endangered birds as they prepare for and raise new chicks,” said Kristin Hall, Nongame Wildlife Program supervisor in a statement.
There are now two EagleCams. The other one shows a different area, the location of the original EagleCam nest, which unfortunately fell in 2023.
