Twenty-three-year-old Kaleb Yost appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division on November 3 facing charges including bringing methamphetamine into the Baxter County Detention Center.
In addition, Yost has a Baxter County District Court probation violation.

He pled not guilty to his charges and was ordered to reappear November 17.

Yost was arrested on the probation violation October 10 and taken to the Baxter County Detention Center – where things only got worse for him and he wound up with drug-related charges. He has been an inmate in the county jail since his arrest.

When Yost was brought into the jail, he is reported to have had a clear plastic bag with him containing clothes and other personal items.

When his wallet was removed from the larger bag during a property inventory, a smaller plastic bag fell out containing a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.

There have been several addresses listed for Yost on various court documents in Arkansas and Missouri include Tecumseh, St. Joe and Gassville.

MISSOURI LEGAL PROBLEMS

Yost has been in trouble with the law in Missouri on a couple of occasions. Electronic court records in that state show he was charged with possession of drugs and items of paraphernalia used to ingest drugs in Ozark County.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Yost left his 2022 black Dodge Charger that had been registered in Arkansas parked partially on a highway just north of Wasola in Ozark County.

When a Missouri Highway Patrolman investigated, he found the car was blocking a portion of the southbound lane of the highway.

The car was towed to a safe location and inventoried. During the inventory the patrolman found what was described as a “survival knife” on the front seat.

The handle of the knife proved to be hollow with a threaded cap. When the cap was removed a syringe and small plastic bag of suspected methamphetamine were found in the handle.

The patrolman arranged to meet Yost at the lot where his car was being held. According to the probable cause statement, during the meeting Yost admitted ownership of the knife, was informed of the illegal items found inside the hollowed-out handle and arrested.

The patrolman also got permission to search the vehicle in which Yost had come to the lot and found a glass pipe used to ingest methamphetamine next to his wallet in the car seat.

Yost was also reported to have claimed ownership of the pipe. Drugs and paraphernalia were found in the car.

GAS DRIVE OFF

In late June, Yost was charged with driving off without paying for gas at a store in Laclede County. The affidavit in that case alleges that Yost pumped the gas into his Dodge Charger, came inside and unsuccessfully tried to pay for the fuel with 10 different credit cards – all of which were declined.

When the clerk stepped into the office to call her boss to find out what to do, Yost was said to have gone to his car and driven off.

Yost was eventually located walking down a highway. A Laclede County sheriff’s deputy talked with Yost and he admitted driving off without paying for the gas.

He was fined $500 plus court costs in that case; a payment plan was worked out and the case closed.
