According to Entergy’s outage map, the power went out around 5:30 a.m. As of 6:30 a.m., 8,848 homes and businesses remain without power. It stretches from Veterans Boulevard to Metairie Heights Avenue.
Entergy officials say they are aware of the outage and are working to correct the issue.
“Entergy is aware of outages currently impacting approximately 9,000 customers in Jefferson Parish and elsewhere. Entergy crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore service. Cause is under investigation at this time.”
The outage happened as temperatures were within the 40s.
Power is expected to be restored around 8:30 a.m., according to officials.
