NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — In a 6:30 a.m. update on Monday, May 26, Entergy officials are reporting that power has been restored to nearly all customers affected by Sunday’s Outage.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — In a 9:45 p.m. update, Entergy officials said the order from its reliability coordinator requiring power outages has been canceled, and power has been restored to most customers impacted by the outage.
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Thousands of Entergy customers are experiencing a power outage Sunday evening, according to Entergy’s outage map.
According to the outage map, as of 5:30 p.m., 52,267 Entergy customers are without power in Orleans Parish, 36,201 in Jefferson Parish, 6,511 in Plaquemines Parish and 6,011 in St. Bernard Parish.
In some areas the outage started around 4:30 p.m.
A spokesperson for Entergy New Orleans issued the following statement:
“Entergy New Orleans is currently subject to a load-shed order from MISO; approximately 52,000 customers are impacted. Our crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to restore service, as soon as we are clear to do so. Estimated time of restoration is unclear at this time, pending further updates from MISO.”

Entergy’s reliability coordinator directed the company to cut off power to avoid a more extensive and longer outage that could affect the reliability of the power grid.
