GOSHEN, Utah (ABC4) — Crews with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) responded to a report of suspicious bags earlier this evening.
According to Sergeant Ray Ormond with UCSO, deputies responded around 6 p.m. to an area near 12900 West and 14600 South in Goshen for reports of a suspicious package. When they responded, they found two black and red tool bags.
One of the bags had chemicals inside that were emitting fumes. Reportedly, Goshen Fire Department and Provo Fire also came to the scene to assist and evacuated two residents just in case.
Sergeant Ormond said that Hazmat has cleared the scene and the evacuated residents have returned to their homes.
However, UCSO Deputies are still looking into the origin of the bags and the contents, and it remains an ongoing investigation.
