Here’s a look at what’s happening across the region.
Salute to Veterans Parade in Uptown Charlotte
Tryon Street (9th St. to Brooklyn Village Ave.)
Starts at 11 a.m.
Charlotte’s biggest Veterans Day parade is back, with more than 2,000 participants, including high school bands, JROTC units, scout troops, and classic vehicles. The parade is free to attend.
Carolinas Veterans Day Festival at Romare Bearden Park
300 Church St, Uptown Charlotte
11 a.m.–3 p.m.
Right after the parade, the celebration continues at Romare Bearden Park with live music, a veterans expo, family activities, and free meals while supplies last.
Huntersville Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony
Downtown Huntersville
Saturday morning (exact time TBA)
Huntersville’s 10th annual parade honors the 250th anniversary of America’s military branches. Bring a lawn chair and plan to arrive early for good views.
Operation Green Light — Across the Region
Everyone can take part in this tribute by shining a green light — at home, at your business, or on your porch to show support for veterans. The Charlotte skyline will glow green on Nov. 11.
Harrisburg Veterans Park Rededication Ceremony

Harrisburg will honor local heroes and celebrate recent park renovations designed to make the space more accessible and welcoming.
Waxhaw Veterans Day Ceremony
Military Wall of Honor, 100 E North Main St
11 a.m.
A traditional ceremony, perfect if you prefer a quieter, more reflective observance.
Cornelius Veterans Day Program
Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza, 21445 Catawba Ave.
11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Cornelius honors service members past and present with a program hosted by American Legion Post 86 on the Town Hall lawn.
Concord Veterans Day Celebration
Boys & Girls Club, 247 Spring St. NW, Concord
11 a.m.
The annual Cabarrus County event features keynote speaker Rear Admiral Miriam L. Lafferty (U.S. Coast Guard, Ret.) and performances by local students.
Veteran’s Day Celebration & Hockey Tribute Game, Extreme Ice Center

12 p.m.
Catch the Queen City Royals’ “Veteran’s Tribute Faceoff” game featuring a ceremonial puck drop by a retired U.S. veteran. Expect live broadcasting, family fun, and a donation drive.
