Assumption Parish deputies arrest fugitive wanted in Mississippi
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Assumption Parish deputies arrested a man wanted in Mississippi after a traffic stop in Belle Rose.
Sheriff Leland Falcon said deputies with the department’s I.C.E. detail stopped a vehicle on LA 70 and identified a passenger as Davon Lee Lewis, 24, of Plattenville.
After running a warrants check through the National Crime Information Center, deputies learned Lewis was wanted in Pike County, Mississippi, for burglary with forced entry.
Lewis was taken into custody and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. He will remain in jail until he is transferred to authorities in Pike County, the sheriff said.
