The Livingston Parish Clerk of Court confirmed that Shawn Robertson, 33, was sentenced after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide, DWI second offense, reckless operation of a vehicle, operating a vehicle under suspension, no seat belt and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Roberston’s 18-year sentence includes five years to be served without the benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence, and he was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine.

According to Denham Springs police, toxicology results for Robertson showed a BAC of 0.09% and a positive result for marijuana, while the teen did not have any alcohol or drugs in her system. Investigators also determined that Robertson was driving at or over 25 mph over the speed limit.
