On Jan. 14, Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on LA 1 in Napoleonville before the police chase started and continued into Lafourche Parish. The driver was arrested and later identified as Dermonta Frazier, 24, of Labadieville.
During an investigation, deputies learned a juvenile and Frazier’s partner Qushawn Beasley, 23 were in the car at the time of the chase. Deputies believed Beasley told the juvenile to take a bag from the car and deliver it to an address in Thibodaux. The bag reportedly contained an assault-style rifle. The juvenile was taken into custody.
After the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Beasley.
On Monday, Beasley was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and criminal mischief. No bond amount has been set, according to the sheriff’s office.
