Hundreds gathered on Nov 6 at the Townsite Avenue Ballroom for the Greater Topeka Partnerships annual “State of the Community,” event. It was an opportunity to celebrate the capital city’s recent achievements, including updates to Gage Park, Washburn Tech’s future North Campus and the pending sale of Hotel Topeka.
“I was incredibly excited about the new things that are coming to Topeka,” said Megan Bottenberg with Cox Communications. “I’m really excited to go to a scarecrows game and get tickets for the family and just to enjoy living and having a great quality of life right here in Topeka.”
The event wrapped up with recognition for Mayor Mike Padilla, who earlier was named Kansas Mayor of the Year.
