
The concert will feature chamber works showcasing a range of musical styles, instruments and composers, including John Cage, Andy Akiho, Ivan Treviño, Jessica Flannigan and Tyler Tolles.
Director of the Dear School of Creative and Performing Arts, Scott Burrell, will narrate a children’s story to accompany Treviño’s percussion quartet “Space Junk.” Music education students in Percussion Class I, taught by Dr. Andrew Blair, will also perform to demonstrate what they’ve learned this semester.
The program will conclude with an arrangement by junior music education major Caedmon Larson of Todd Baker’s “Endless Desert.” The NSU Percussion Ensemble is directed by Dr. Oliver Molina with assistance from graduate students Walker Libbe and Sam Wyant.
