1 dead after wheelchair struck by a car in Visalia

VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A person in a wheelchair is dead after they were hit by a car in Visalia on Tuesday night.

Police say it happened around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Mooney Boulevard and Feemster Avenue in Central Visalia.

According to photos provided by the Visalia Watchdog, the person was in a wheelchair when he was struck. He was taken to a local hospital, where police say he later died.

Mooney Boulevard south of Tulare Avenue will be temporarily closed while investigators inspect the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been released, but YourCentralValley.com will provide updates as they become available.
