Women found dead in vehicle outside old sheriff’s headquarters in Visalia

VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A homicide investigation is underway in Visalia after a woman was found dead in a vehicle Friday night.

The Visalia Police Department says that at approximately 8 p.m., officers were dispatched to the old Tulare County Sheriff’s Office headquarters at 2404 West Burrel Ave. for a report of a medical emergency under suspicious circumstances.

When officers arrived, officials say they found an unresponsive woman inside a vehicle. CPR was performed, but she was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Officials add that police detained a man who was also at the scene.

The Visalia Police Department’s Violent Crimes Detectives have taken over the investigation, and this remains an active case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Visalia Police Department at (559) 734-8117.
