The substitute teacher was forced to leave the school, Burns stated. The school system turned over the case to law enforcement personnel for investigation. Parents of the students who were allegedly offered a vape device from the substitute teacher were notified.
“Pell City Schools holds the safety and well-being of our students as our highest priority,” Burns stated. “We have zero tolerance for behavior that compromises that trust, and we are taking every appropriate step to ensure this situation is handled properly.”
The substitute teacher was not identified.
