Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township confirmed in a statement to FOX59/CBS4 that a substitute teacher had to be removed from Winding Ridge Elementary School on Thursday afternoon, following allegations that they had “forcibly” pushed and grabbed multiple students while teaching in a classroom. The school said the teacher also allegedly cursed at the students during the altercation.
The school district noted that staff filed a police report and completed all required documentation of the incident after it reportedly occurred. The statement concluded that the alleged behavior would not be tolerated and that the “well-being of students continues to be the top priority of the district.”

“This afternoon, a substitute teacher at Winding Ridge Elementary was removed from the school following allegations of cursing and forcibly pushing and grabbing several students in a classroom. The parents of impacted students were contacted directly. A police report was filed and all mandatory reporting completed. The MSD of Lawrence Township remains committed to partnering with external organizations that share our high standards, ensuring our students are supported by only the very best. This type of conduct will not be tolerated, and the well-being of students continues to be the top priority of the district.”
FOX59/CBS4 is working to learn more about the circumstances surrounding this incident. As of this article’s publication, the substitute teacher’s employment status with the district remains unclear.
