NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify suspects and make arrests in, what they’re calling, an ambush in Algiers. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.
According to the NOPD, the attack happened around 8:20 p.m. Sept. 17 in the 3100 block of Rue Parc Fontaine. Police say a videographer went there to shoot a video segment when he reported being confronted by seven men wearing masks and hoodies.
Police identified one of the suspects as Dawand Wilson. As of Nov. 3, they were still trying to identify other people who may have been involved.
According to a statement from the department, the attackers stole the victim’s phone, wallet, jewelry, watch, camera, Glock pistol and Jeep. The Jeep was recovered the following day. But police said they had not located any of the victim’s other valuables.
