NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — An arrest has been made in the case of an Algiers homicide.
Officers with the New Orleans Police Department report that on Oct. 6 around 8 p.m., they were called to the scene of a shooting in the 3700 block of Texas Drive.
Responding officers arrived to find a 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.
Through the investigation, homicide detectives said they identified 17-year-old Ronald Smith Jr. as the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued on a charge of second-degree murder. On Oct. 27, Smith was located and arrested in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
