K-State women’s hoops dominates in season opener, defeating Omaha 100-35

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – The Kansas State Wildcats are off to a hot start for the 2025-26 season, defeating Omaha 100-35 in the season opener. Nearly half the Wildcats’ points came from its bench.

The ‘Cats started the night on an 11-0 run before Omaha scored its first points via free throws. At the end of the half, K-State was up 50-9.

Sophomore guard Izela Arenas led the way with 18 points, four rebounds and three assists. She was 8 for 12 on field goals, with a single three on the night.

Junior guard Taryn Sides scored 15 points with 12 assists and seven rebounds. Sides was 5 of 7 from field goal range, and 3 for 4 outside the arch.

Up next, the ‘Cats will take on SMU in Dallas on Nov. 8. Tip off is set for 4 p.m.
