Columbus Parks and Rec to host Thanksgiving food drive benefitting Chattahoochee Valley families

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Columbus Consolidated Government is preparing to give back to families in the Chattahoochee Valley for Thanksgiving this year.

Columbus Parks and Recreation will be hosting two Thanksgiving food drives throughout November at multiple recreation centers. Donated items will benefit Muscogee County and surrounding residents, helping provide pantry staples for families.

Individuals are encouraged to donate non-perishable items like vegetables, boxed stuffing, pasta, rice and peanut butter.

Donation bins will be available at the following locations:

  • Comer Community Center
  • Columbus Aquatic Center
  • Tillis Recreation Center
  • Northside Recreation Center

The second food drive will take place at the Frank Chester Senior Center,1441 Benning Drive, from Nov. 1 to Nov. 22.

Items will be distributed to families before Thanksgiving week. For more info, visit the city’s website.
