Columbus government announces Independence Day holiday observance schedule
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The local Columbus government will suspend and alter city services on Friday, July 4, 2025 with the exception of emergency services (Fire, Police, Ambulance).
An updated garbage collection schedule has been provided by the city as well.
Waste/Recycle: NO PICK UP FRIDAY, JULY 4th (Friday routes will be collected on Wed., July 2)
311 Citizens Service Center: Closed on July 4th
Landfills, Granite Bluff/Pine Grove: Closed July 4-5, 2025 (Will Open Sat., July 12 to the public from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.)
Parks and Recreation: The Parks and Recreation Administrative Office, recreation centers, senior centers, therapeutic recreation, Cooper Creek Tennis Center, Columbus Aquatic Center and Britt David Cultural Arts Studio will be closed on Friday, July 4 in observance of the holiday. All outdoor pools will operate holiday hours of 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Civic Center: Administration Office and Columbus Ice Rink Closed
METRA Bus Service: NO BUS SERVICE
Recorder’s Court: Closed July 4th (8:00 a.m. Advisement Session on July 5th)
Property Tax & Motor Vehicle Registration: Closed July 4th
Bull Creek Golf Course & Oxbow Golf Course: Will operate normal business hours
