NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — An arrest has been made in the case of a New Orleans East homicide.
On Monday, Sept. 22, the New Orleans Police Department announced the arrest of 58-year-old Darryl Loving for his alleged connection to the stabbing death of a man in the 9000 block of Chef Menteur Highway.
Around 5:03 p.m. on Sept. 18, NOPD officers responded to a call of a suspicious person in the area and to conduct a welfare check.
Responding officers arrived at the home to find an unresponsive man inside suffering from multiple injuries including cut wounds.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
An investigation reportedly led detectives to identify Loving as a suspect. NOPD officers said he was also found with injuries and taken to a hospital for treatment.
Loving was released from the hospital and has since been booked into the Orleans Justice Center on charges of second-degree murder.
Anyone with information on the crime can call the NOPD Homicide Section at 504-658-5300.
