With UCare dropping Medicare Advantage at the end of the year, it leaves more than 150,000 Minnesotans, mostly seniors, looking for a new health insurance plan.

If you are losing your UCare Medicare Advantage coverage, that also includes your drug plan.

“They won’t have any drug coverage going into the new year,” said Kelli Jo Greiner, with Minnesota Board on Aging. “You really have to take action because of all the changes that are happening.”

So for those who do nothing, “they will revert back to original Medicare, they’ll have parts a and b, but they will not have any drug coverage,” said Greiner.

Go to Medicare.gov and get yourself enrolled — for drug coverage, look for Medicare D.

Open enrollment goes until Dec. 7, and you can also call 800-333-2433 for more information.
