By rssfeeds-admin A 75-year-old man reported missing Tuesday evening in the 9 Mile Ridge area was found safe Wednesday morning after an overnight search, according to the Fulton County Sheriffs Office.
Deputies responded around 7 Tuesday evening after Denny Smith failed to return home earlier in the afternoon. Multiple search teams were called to assist and continued searching through the night until about 4 the next morning, when operations were paused due to darkness and poor weather conditions.
At daybreak, Smith was located walking along McFadden Road. Authorities said he appeared to be in good condition and was medically evaluated at the scene.
The sheriffs office thanked several agencies for their assistance, including the 9 Mile, Hardy, Mammoth Spring and Evening Shade fire departments, Sharp County Search and Rescue, the Arkansas State Police and the Mountain Home Police Department, which provided a drone equipped with night vision.
