Video: Car crashes into fire hydrant, floods Huntersville street
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A vehicle struck a fire hydrant on Wednesday morning, sending water gushing into the street, according to the Huntersville Fire Department.

Emergency crews were called to Reese Boulevard just before 10 a.m. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the crash, but firefighters said the damaged hydrant has left behind a big mess.

Charlotte Water crews are working to make repairs and clean up the area. Drivers are being asked to avoid Reese Boulevard while work continues.

The Huntersville Police Department issued the following statement:

“A portion of the 13600 block of Reese Boulevard West and the 13800 block of Boren Street are currently closed due to a traffic crash. Barricades are being brought in, and these blocks will be closed for an extended time due to the roadway being compromised.”
