Arkansas Storm Team Blog: Wind Advisory on Wednesday

Wednesday, October 29, from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m., a Wind Advisory will be in effect across Arkansas. Sustained winds blowing out of the northwest are expected between 20 miles per hour and 30 miles per hour. Wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour are possible. An isolated wind gust up to 40 miles per hour isn’t out of the question, especially in western Arkansas.

Winds will pick up Tuesday night, increasing into Wednesday. By Wednesday night, winds will start to die down. Thursday will be breezy still for the first half of the day, then winds will calm by Thursday night.

Loose outdoor objects should be secured ahead of the wind, if possible. Halloween decorations, trash cans, and other light yard objects should be brought indoors or secured. High-profile vehicles may have some trouble driving on the roadways on Wednesday during the gustiest moments.
