MAP: Thousands of customers affected by power outages caused by high wind across Big Country

(KTAB/KRBC) – Thousands of customers are affected by power outages caused by high winds across the Big Country Friday afternoon.

AEP Texas shows nearly 2,500 customers across Abilene, Taylor County, Callahan County, Jones County, Haskell County, and more are currently without power.

Oncor, which services counties to the west like Nolan, Scurry, and Mitchell, shows they have more than 6,000 customers affected.

Wind gusts reached sustained speeds of 20-40 miles per hour with gusts of 40 to 60 miles per hour across the Big Country Friday.
