NEW ORLEANS — In December of 2002. J.T. Curtis’s Patriots defeated Frank Wilson and O. Perry Walker in the Class 4A state championship game.

23 years later, Curtis is the all-time winningest high school football coach on the field, and Wilson is the interim head coach at LSU following Brian Kelly’s departure.

Coach J.T. is confident that Wilson gives the Tigers the best chance to finish the 2025 regular season on a high note after their 5-3 start and 2-3 mark in SEC play.

“Frank has a very calm demeanor about him. He went through something similar to this at, O. Perry Walker when he took over that program and had to kind of bring a stability to that program. And, the record speaks for itself. So, I think having to make that change, I think that was the best option that they had,” said Coach J.T. Curtis.

Frank Wilson’s first game as LSU interim head coach will be a road contest against No. 4 Alabama. That matchup will happen Saturday, November 8th at 6:30 p.m. on WGNO and ABC affiliates.
