The mayor gave an update to council on the status of a state funded project to improve south Johnson St. by adding a sidewalk, widening the road and gutter improvements.
Council approved Ordinance 2025-08, which defines the duties and compensation of the city attorney. The council also held second readings of several other measures, including Ordinance 2025-10 establishing a monthly fee for properties using a sewer lift station, Ordinance 2025-11 allowing electronic fund transfers under state law.
Ordinance 2025-12 which would add a cybersecurity and internet policy to the city’s personnel handbook was tabled to add language addressing artificial intelligence.
New business was postponed until the next meeting as Clint Walker was unable to attend to make a presentation on behalf of First Security Bank regarding the extension of banking terms for the city.
