With the recent passing of Councilman Kenneth Smith, the seat for Ward 1 position 2 is currently open through late 2026.
Mayor Jeff Braim spoke with KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot News about the type of person they hope to find to serve in the seat.

Anyone interested and that meets the requirements can contact City Hall 870-435-6439 or stop by 204 S. School St. with a resume at and council will consider the submitted applications and appoint someone to the position at the next council meeting October 21.
