City of Gassville seeking applicants for vacant council seat

The City of Gassville is seeking a civic minded citizen to serve out the remainder of a term on it’s city council.

With the recent passing of Councilman Kenneth Smith, the seat for Ward 1 position 2 is currently open through late 2026.





Mayor Jeff Braim spoke with KTLO, Classic Hits and the Boot News about the type of person they hope to find to serve in the seat.

Applicants must be 18 years or older and live within Ward 1. Mayor Braim shares the boundaries of the ward.

A commitment from the selected applicant to attend city meetings and other city business matters would be required.

Anyone interested and that meets the requirements can contact City Hall 870-435-6439 or stop by 204 S. School St. with a resume at and council will consider the submitted applications and appoint someone to the position at the next council meeting October 21.
