Police detain armed robbery suspect
ANDERSON, Ind. — Anderson police have detained an armed robbery suspect who was on the run.

Officers with the Anderson Police Department were called Thursday to the 2500 block of W. 12th Street on report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, they spoke with an alleged victim who said a man had approached their home, showed a gun and demanded money.

APD said “officers quickly secured the scene” and that CID handled the case.

The alleged suspect has been identified as Harold “Butch” Johnson, a 62-year-old Anderson man. A photo of Johnson, provided by police, can be seen below:

Police said Johnson also has several active warrants and was considered armed and dangerous until he was taken into custody Friday evening.
