Mayor Parker launches task force to combat illegal dumping in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — Mayor Cherelle Parker has announced a new task force dedicated to eliminating illegal dumping across the city of Philadelphia.

The Office of Clean and Green Initiatives says there will be a rapid response cleanup team with more than 400 surveillance cameras throughout different sections of the city.

Mayor Parker says this is all part of her vision for a safer, cleaner, and greener Philadelphia, “This is Philly’s fight against illegal dumping, and together we are going to win.”

People who illegally dump without a vehicle must pay a fine of $2,000 per item, and those with a vehicle will owe $5,000 per item.
