Adams County fugitive captured after fleeing into wooded area
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said Lee Raymond Clay was wanted on multiple felony warrants, including an indictment for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and an affidavit for aggravated domestic violence.
On October 23, 2025, deputies responded to a local on Steam Plant Road in an effort to serve Clay with the outstanding indictment and affidavit. When they arrived, Patten said Clay ran away from a home.
According to the sheriff, Clay ran into a nearby wood line, down an embankment and into a creek bed. Deputies established a perimeter and began pursuing Clay through the wooded area.
Patten said Clay was located and tased twice while he continued to resist arrest. He was then taken into custody without further incident.
Clay was transported to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office where he was served with the indictment and affidavit. He was also charged with resisting arrest. A hold was placed on Clay by the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
