Texas Tech Credit Union offering tortilla-themed rally towels
LUBBOCK, Texas — In the face of Kirby Hocutt’s decision to ban tortilla tossing from Texas Tech home football games, the Texas Tech Credit Union has developed an alternative that keep the spirit of the tradition alive.
According to Facebook post from the credit union, it has introduced rally towels that are designed to resemble the iconic tortillas. Chris Hutson, Chief Executive Officer of Texas Tech Credit Union, spoke about the reason behind creating the towels. “Our Tortilla Rally Towels are our way of keeping the iconic game day tradition alive. Even though the tortillas might be gone, the energy, pride and spirit are stronger than ever. Texas Tech Credit Union is proud to help fans show their support in a whole new way. Come get yours at any Lubbock Branch,” he said.
Red Raider faithful are able to swing by a Texas Tech Credit Union location and pick up their tortilla rally towel for no charge, just in time for Texas Tech’s next home game against Oklahoma State this Saturday.
