Man seriously injured in stabbing on Indy’s east side

INDIANAPOLIS — A man is in serious condition at an Indianapolis hospital after reportedly being stabbed on the city’s east side.

Indianapolis Metropolitan police officers were called around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 6000 block of Windsor Drive for a stabbing. Upon arrival at the scene, a residential area near E. 22nd Street and Arlington Avenue, they found an adult male suffering from a stab wound.

The man was reportedly taken to an area hospital in serious, but stable, condition.

IMPD said that they detained a person at the scene, but that they were later released. Investigators believe this is an isolated incident where the involved people knew one another prior to the stabbing.

Officer Tommy Thompson told FOX59/CBS4 that the investigation into the stabbing is ongoing. No other information was immediately provided by police.

Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to immediately call 911 or IMPD. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS.
