Georgia man to be extradited to Indiana in child exploitation case
MADISON, Ind. — A Georgia man is awaiting extradition to Indiana following allegations that he shared sexually explicit photographs with a child in Indiana.

According to the Madison Police Department, officers received a tip on July 25 from a concerned parent who reported finding a photograph of a nude man on their child’s tablet. Investigators then executed search warrants on multiple internet service providers to uncover the identity of the man.

This eventually led them to 24-year-old Jonathan Leak of Carrollton, Georgia. Investigators also obtained access to a reported conversation between Leak and the child, who was reported to be under the age of 10. MPD said detectives uncovered evidence that Leak supplied the victim with sexually explicit photographs.

Leak was arrested after an arrest warrant was approved through the Jefferson County Circuit Court. MPD said Leak faces additional charges after Georgia authorities searched through his devices.

Leak is currently awaiting extradition to Indiana, where he faces a preliminary count of child exploitation, which is a level 4 felony.

The Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office, the Jefferson County Department of Child Services and the Carrollton Police Department also assisted in the case.
