Around 2:20 p.m., they issued a statement saying their team was able to enter the Fox Tower room without further incident, and that a person is in custody.
“We thank members of our Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Police Department and the joint efforts of local and state agencies for their professionalism and quick action to resolve this matter,” the police department’s statement reads.
The person in custody has not been identified, according to police.
Casino leaders also released a statement, in part saying normal operations have resumed on the property.
“We would like to thank the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Police Department, Connecticut State Police, local authorities and all agencies that played a part in safely resolving this situation. Normal operations on the property have resumed,” they said.
Just after noon, the police department said a person allegedly restrained two people before releasing them and that “it was an isolated and contained situation.”
“Law enforcement are managing a situation in a Fox Tower hotel room involving an individual believed to have unlawfully restrained two people before quickly releasing them earlier this morning. Reports of a hostage situation are incorrect. We urge against the spreading of unverified information. This is an isolated and contained situation. Official updates will be made as they become available.”

At around 10:30 a.m., the police department’s issued the following statement.
“There is an active law enforcement situation in a Fox Tower hotel room. The area has been contained by MPTN police and local law enforcement, and is isolated. The safety and security of our guests and team members remain our highest priority. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.”
Visitors said that during this time, they had no problem getting in and out of the casino.
Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted, including Connecticut State Police and Ledyard police.
