New evidence leads to Shreveport man’s arrest for 2019 sex crimes

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Police have arrested a man in connection with sex crimes he allegedly committed in 2019.

Police arrested 47-year-old Brian Mitchell on one count of molesting a minor and one count of felony sexual battery related to an incident that happened in September 2019.

Detectives reported that multiple allegations had been made against Mitchell. Based on new information and recently developed evidence, they were able to reopen the case. Following forensic interviews and a review of the new findings, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Mitchell and he was taken into custody.

The Shreveport Police Department encourages anyone who may have additional information related to these or similar incidents to come forward.
