Suspects in custody after shots fired during Southern University homecoming game

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) – Suspects are in custody after shots were fired on Southern University’s campus during Saturday’s homecoming game.

The shots were fired just after Five O’clock.

A university spokeswoman tells Louisiana First News that this was an isolated incident and no injuries were reported.

The names of the suspects and their possible charges are unknown.

The Southern University Police and Baton Rouge Police Departments say the investigation is ongoing.

Earlier this week, Southern University Chancellor John Pierre announced an increased law enforcement presence during the homecoming festivities.
